Ethologie is the Dutch word for ethology, the study of animal behavior. The Netherlands have played an important role in the early days of ethology. The Dutch ethologist Niko Tinbergen (1907-1988) was one of the pioneers in ethology and animal behavior. He became known all over the world after his book "The study of instinct" was published. Most of this website is in Dutch. But some of the most interesting contents have been translated:
